Just to clarify, I was not saying that the British age was a golden age, I was just responding to novuscorona who said that the period 100 years ago was the "worst period of history... Imperialism and British draconian dominance of the world," there is no doubt that British imperialism was draconian, they killed hundreds of thousands of people around the world for money, resources and power, but they were not THE WORST, the new imperialists have killed (and are killing) a lot more.

I think until the globalization hit we didn't have any pure love story in
Bollywood. I think a movie like Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak showed such innocent
love. That is lacking in Bollywood today.

Old is gold. I remember when my dad used to play these old songs in our
car, we would hide these tapes and even destroy them. (We were very young )
Now i regret doing what i did, i just couldn't appreciate that then. Sorry
Dad.

Aapki Nazaron Ne Samjha, Pyaar Ke Kabil Mujhe dil Ki Ai Dhadkan Thaher Ja,
Mil Gayee Manzil Mujhe aapki Nazron Ne Samjha ji Hamen Manzoor Hai, Aapka
Ye Faisla kah Rahi Hai Har Nazar, Banda Paravar Shukriya do Jahaan Ki Aaj
Khushiyan Ho Gayee Haasil Mujhe aapki Nazron Ne Samjha ... aapki Manzil
Hoon Main Meri Manzil Aap Hain kyon Main Toofaan Se Darun Mere Saahil Aap
Hain koi Tufanon Se Kah De, Mil Gaya Sahil Mujhe aapki Nazron Ne Samjha ...

Its not the song of my age but I adore the innocence in the old time movies
and songs.. Instead of akshay kumar dancing next to white girls with tiny
bikinis.. India.. Your culture is so rich.. Dont loose it:(

Life is good all the time if one makes good selections. Our civilizational
heritage lies in origin of languages, music, mathmatics, science etc etc.
Read good books and listen to great music like this and the likes of
Jasrajji, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Hari Prasad Chaurasia, to name few here.

@Bucaphalus1 - so what? My point was that a country could still one bond uniting us all - music. You can't find fault with that logic, right? :)

One the very few that regrets having not born a tad earlier - My memory goes out to say, 1970. I think 1970 to 1987 is where I'll draw the line, but your point is very respectfully noted!

Madan Mohanji will remain immortal even if it is for only this song! The
singing the pauses cadences and the rhythm it is justthe flawless complete
package! The words are of course ALIVE! "Pad gayee dil par mere Aap Ki
parchayiyan!" True of Madan Mohan and Lataji combo on our hearts!
