Comments for song "Ye Jeevan Hai Is Jiwan Ka, Yahi Hai Rang Rup"

Great, homely, enjoyable film this was, by the genius that was Basu Chatterjee -- one of India's greatest & my personal favorite directors ever. There is one advice that the director had intended for the audience to leave home with: that marriage is about compromising, for without it, only selfishness & arrogance will prevail -- that, & the fact that Mumbai houses really ARE expensive (confirmation to what I've been told all this time) ;)

Grade-A upload -- many, many thanks!!

Desikan Nambakkam on Friday, August 07, 2009
The movie name does not appear to have been mentioned?. Is it from UPAHAAR
? in which the life of Mumbai - those days called Bombay - is reflected in
the one roomed tenements with so many members of a family sharing the
accommodation.

tribhalla on Thursday, August 13, 2009
one should take it - this is a fact of life.nothing is 100%, be happy.

What a soothing voice. I feel so fortunate to have Kishore Kumar's voice
present of in my life.

kishorepremi on Wednesday, October 07, 2009
I agree with you. Kishoreda was undoubtedly the greatest play back singer
that Indian Cinema has ever produced.

Mrchingaminga on Monday, October 26, 2009
listen this song as more as you can 10 stars for the song

imbliyandan on Sunday, November 15, 2009
Hey ssfaps,

Its not a question of ranking. Only a person who has knowledge of music can rank, . And it is 100% true that rafi is the best. I am not saying that kishore kumar is not great. He is. And i also enjoy his songs a lot. But he is below rafi.

And its a fact..Ask some knowledgebale fellows.

ssfaps on Monday, November 16, 2009
Imbliyandan: Since you told me to check, I did ask some "knowledgeable"
people and here are the official results. Those born before 1963 rank Rafi
higher that KK and the ones born after 1963 rank KK higher than Rafi. Lets
call it a draw and enjoy both.

imbliyandan on Monday, November 16, 2009
SSaps,

seems u have not asked knowledgable people. Its not a question of born before and born after. Rafi is the greatest and it is the fact. theres no doubt about it. Si its not a draw or something like u called it. Seems u dont know much about music

James Samuel on Monday, November 16, 2009
jaya bhadhuri is one of the best actress of indian cinema and amithabh is
number one

Arghya Dutta on Sunday, November 29, 2009
Tell me which musicians have you talked with who had said Rafi is the best
hands down.. Have u ever seen the breath control, voice resonance, purity,
pure chest voice which are quintessential for classical music? Have they
talked on these points vis a vis rafi and kishore? have they talked on
range? How rafi was weak in the lowest octave? Have they talked how rafi
used to customize the ghazals from being a traditional low to medium octave
singing by singing them at high pitch at his convenience

Arghya Dutta on Sunday, November 29, 2009
Now coming to classical music(which of course you would talk) have you ever
taken classical lessons from any guru?Ask Pandit Bhimsen Joshi sahab what
he found in the voice of Kishore Kumar. Hear it from the best. Classical
music is first nurturing a voice, a good chest voice(and not voices which
comes from upper layer), a voice with pure "dhwani" or resonance.. And in
ornamentation, ie, alaap, taan, sargam- ask them what is the competence of
each and every singer.

imbliyandan on Monday, November 30, 2009
you fool of an ass, from your comments i understand that you know nothing about music at all , not to mention classical music. you dont even have the eligibility to talk about rafi. so just shut up u fool.

Arghya Dutta on Tuesday, December 01, 2009
Yes, I am a frong in the well, Jahan panah! And next time you reply to me,
mahagyani religious , you are gonna show me: 1. Rafi hitting and sustaining
a low note as low as "ma" any time(yes, any time in his career) 2. At least
a "pa" on the udara without a voice texture change. 3. A song where he
sings three different voices at a time. 4. A song where he covers three
full octaves.5. Any song which he sings purely from his chest voice.6. A
genre where he can take three different falsettos.

lahiridilli on Thursday, March 18, 2010
why all this fuss? Just listen to these masters and forget everything else.
Hum koi bhi rafi saab, kishoreda, mukeshji, Latadidi ke nakhun ke barabar
bhi nahin hai. Listen to them and worship them. Plsssssssss. And in case
one is too much into music grammar etc pls listen to Ustad Amir Khan saab,
Bade Ghulam Ali khan saab and Bach.

REAL LIFE OF METRO LIKE MUMBAI

RSKALAGNANAM on Saturday, April 03, 2010
@ssfaps - completely agree with you. How good a song is depends on how it tugs at one's heart strings. Also depends on one's mood at the time one is listening to a particular piece of music.

Despite Kishorda, a non classical singer, he made his own style and outclassed many great singer by his brilliance in voice modulation, quality of voice.
For me, no singer matches his voice and ability to perform on stage. That is my personnel opinion.
He will remain in my heart for ever.

I love you Kishor da

Akhtar.

@ssfaps I love this comment of yours...especially in a world where constantly we are upsetting ourselves and others, by comparing - songs, singers, language, food, religion, politics, status...

roganjosh2008 on Tuesday, August 31, 2010
@KHOBIII
calling her "ugly"? Who says so...she's glamour personified of the golden years, for God's sake...

roganjosh2008 on Tuesday, August 31, 2010
@prettypinky100 Some people in the times we live in, need to know for instance, that there are more Indians who can relate to "Culture", "Tehzeeb", "Sanksar" pretty much with equal elan...than there are in the world who's forefathers were stalwarts of "tameez & tehzeeb".people who quarrel about music and/or religion are at best some concocted generation...it doesn't matter which part of the world they live :)

These are the morel values on which a society is alive and shining in the world which is full of light. Love, responsibility, dedication and affection along with the respect and culture. The life which may not give physical pleasure but a spiritual sanctification which can not be bought at any cost by any person. I love this song

Meaningful super song by Kishoreda!

Pepe Chareetur on Tuesday, February 22, 2011
Both Rafi and Kishore have sung great songs. So have Mukesh, Mahendra
Kapoor and others. You can't pick who is better between Kishore & Rafi.
Same applies to Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhonsle. Shankar Jaikishan,
Laxmikant Pyarelal,Kalyanji Anandji, RD Burman, Madan Mohan, Ravi among
music directors. Shailendra, Anand Bakshi,Shaheer Ludyanvi, Majrooh
Sultanpuri, Indivar... ...and many others among lyricists. Everyone
contributed and they were all very good.

missoni2009 on Thursday, March 24, 2011
@avi10samanta
you seriously need to hear Rafi's songs. His voice changed quite a bit from late 40s to 70s due to the change in music. In my opinion the music got crappier after mid 70s. Rafi is a lot more versatile than Kishore Kumar. Listen up next time.
