Rafi Sahab...as usual...best of the best...

AJ MISTRY on Saturday, May 17, 2008
lovely song.old is gold.today's songs are nothing compare to this old.

tapobrataha on Friday, May 23, 2008
Let's not compare the oldies with today's songs (are they songs any more?).
The voices, the lyricists, the composers are no more. The ingredients of
making such magic are gone forever.

Anirban Shome on Monday, May 26, 2008
Mind blowing song . Whenever i hear these song i remember my first love who
left me and i m truly telling u i feel like crying every time i hear this
song and remember her.

Anirban Shome on Monday, May 26, 2008
This is one of the greatest song sung by Rafi and Lata. Whenever i hear
these song i remember my first love who left me and i m telling u truly
everytime i hear the song i feel like crying remembering her.

Vijay Pahuja on Friday, June 06, 2008
one of my favorite songs i listen whenever i need to remember by nearest
and dearest

MsSVasan on Thursday, June 19, 2008
The song is indeed a very heartrendingly beautiful, sweet, melodious song
with a tune, melody and the voices unforgettable. I do not mean to offend,
but it is somewhat wasted on the above two actors. I know the actor has
acted in a movie called Paarasmani(with another hit song sung by
Rafi..Saaranga Teri Yaad).I wish this song had WaheedaRehman/Sadha
ana/SairaBanu/Nutan/Tanuja/AshaParekhMadhubalaorMadhubala instead of the
above actress.Yet the song is very beautiful& very haunting. IMMORTAL

MsSVasan on Thursday, June 19, 2008
Correction.THis song is from the moviePaarasm ani.The song"Saaranga Teri
Yaad Mein"is quite a memorable song as well.I am not decrying the
song.but feel that, for the depth of meaning, pathos, sweetness&melody,an
actor like Dev Anand would have suited this song with either Waheeda or
Sadhana or any of the below Even Sunil Dutt, GUru Dutt, Balraj Sahni or
DilipKumar would have been quite appropriate. Dev Anand's voice had a lot
of romance&Rafi's Voice fitted Dev's Persona &Voice like no Other.

MsSVasan on Thursday, June 19, 2008
Oops, minor correction :)!!! The song "Saaranga Teri Yaad Mein" sung by
Immortal Rafi Saheb is from the movie "Saaranga" and not the above
"Paarasmani" movie.

kishor gharana on Thursday, June 26, 2008
Evergreen most popular song. thank you

joiyer on Friday, July 18, 2008
Oops... another correction... Saranga teri yaad mein is sung by Mukesh not
Rafi, at least the one from the movie Saranga. I'm not aware of a Rafi
version.

vibha tiwari on Wednesday, July 23, 2008
Lovely song.. every time i hear it i remember my first love.. :( thank u
for posting it...

MsSVasan on Thursday, July 31, 2008
Dear Joiyer, LOL ;),Thanks so much...You're absolutely right, the above
immortal Song"Woh Jab Yaad Aaaye"...is by Rafi & the song from movie
"Saaranga", "Saaranga Teri Yaad Mein" is definitely by Mukesh. I appreciate
your catching that error. :)>...Simply love these songs..just feel that
this song and those others takes the listener to dizzying heights of
blissful heaven, making one swoon. Wah !!! Kya Baat Hai, Rafi Saheb we give
you a Warm Hug wherever you are. IMMORTAL GOLDEN CLASSIC

MsSVasan on Thursday, July 31, 2008
Dear Lovers/Listeners of these IMMORTAL GOLDEN CLASSICS, Can anybody please
confirm whether the female playback singer is Suman Kalayanpur or Lata
Mangeshkar. Listening to the song, it does feel like the voice is
definitely Sumanjee & not Latajee. I have googled for the answer & have
found some beautiful fan sites of Rafi Saheb, where some have said it is
Sumanjee & then comments correcting the posts saying, the above song has
female PB singer as Latajee. Can anybody CONFIRM this.Thx A-LOT:)??

joiyer on Friday, August 01, 2008
I think this is definitely Lata. Lata and Rafi supported LP very much in
their early days as independent music directors. Parasmani was the first
released film with LP as music directors.

MsSVasan on Friday, August 01, 2008
I know,Only in later years, Latajee&Rafi Sahib had a fallout(disagreement
over whether a %Of the sales revenues generated by the royalties also went
to the PBsingers. Hailing from Punjab,Rafi Saheb was easy going,
gregarious& possibly did not really care 4the monetary gain/profit.Latajee
was quite shrewd &it looks like she had edged out the competition in later
years 2reign as the Supreme Nightingale(Granted, she is truly
gifted),however Sumanjee was quite a match with her equally sweet voice.

MsSVasan on Friday, August 01, 2008
Joiyer,Appreciate your clarificationThx.Pls google,U will be delighted to
read lot of sites on(Talatjee, RafiSahib,Latajee, Bhupender
etc.).The40-60s,those were the real beautiful days...it is somewhat very
similar to another favorite of mine the Fred Quimby productions(from
the40s-60s of theTOM&JERRY CLASSIC Cartoons.Simply Adore them.Especially
the Ugly Duckling,(voice SO endearing,making 1fall n love 4 the
CuteDuckling).Same Story with thoseClassicsAs Well.Sadly& thankfully

vipinkandwal on Saturday, August 02, 2008
The voice here is lata's. Agrees that Suman Kalyanpur had melodious and to an extent similar voice however on really high notes it is clearly evident that Suman's voice turns monotonous. Like in 'Tumse to deewane kabie mohabbt na maine karni thi' from Farz or 'humko man ki shakti dena' from Guddi etc.

flowertwo on Saturday, August 23, 2008
very sweet and romantic.THE to greatest singers of Hindi film. And LP are good in this song. They were utterly mediocre though.

jiten ray on Thursday, September 04, 2008
there is a Rafi version , but it has only mukhda. It is very rare bit of
song. But you can have it from the video cd.

drpranavsingh on Thursday, September 25, 2008

sloppyviewer on Saturday, October 11, 2008
the song is great, unfortunately the picturization isn't.

Ikeb99 on Saturday, October 25, 2008
The Singers are Great but the actot & actress are probably the ugliest

sloppyviewer on Saturday, October 25, 2008
ya- lol but still a good song

SeaBreezeCenter on Thursday, October 30, 2008
"Saranga Teri Yaad Mein" from film Saranga was sung by Mukesh and also Rafi
sahib. Mukesh has sung the full version which is famous but Rafi Sahib has
sung just one line which is rare.

mahoomohsin on Thursday, October 30, 2008
i miss my parents a lot..n it really aggravates my feelingz!!!!!!!lovely number,,,hae na!

inappro on Thursday, October 30, 2008
Hey guys stop commenting on the "bad" or "ugly" picturization..If you
think it's ugly go watch a DJ Doll remix or something.

moonmusicnartan on Friday, October 31, 2008
well howwould you feel if I hve a Gujarti accent in Punjabi song? There i nothing wrong it is just a difference ..( can u imagine Lata Mangeshkar singing Jethro Tull? That is the difference..nothing really wrong

dsouza18 on Saturday, November 15, 2008
what a beautiful song ! sung so passiontely by rafi

mynanobots5 on Monday, November 17, 2008
good song, excellent lyrics.i like rafi sirs voice.best singer in whole wide world.

kumbhscorpio on Monday, November 24, 2008
laxmikant pyarelal gave everything they had and probably was their first and best music. all the songs topped the chart took the filmfare award and toppled the dynasty of great shankar jaikishen. well love the songs as the film was a big flop and even who had the accessisibility to see free could do in two to three attempt.rajshri gave break to LP and they took with both hand poor asad bhopali could not do much as a lyricist. well someone gained(LP) but not at someones cost.

shaann11 on Monday, December 01, 2008
i agree the epotimization is crap..but lets not forget that the voice is of rafi sahib..who's voice no one can challenge..amazing song..

How can I change the tide of this cruel time and revert it back to those golden days when people use to hear these kinds of gems. Truly this era is devoid of many good things which our older generations used to cherish and enjoy. The aesthetics of current generation has also suffered due to the blind and senseless following of this so called Pop Culture from the west.

imranwzd on Tuesday, December 16, 2008
Some words about Rafi sahab as ever his voice in this track as well is truly haunting and arise some strong and mix feelings of craving, longing for the loved one, melancholy and hope. Only Rafi has this unbelievable and God gifted tendency to create these kinds of emotions through his immortal voice, other singers can only claim with out any sustentative authority from the listeners.

"How can I change the tide of this cruel time and revert it back to those
golden days when people use to hear these kinds of gems." They still do!:)
Thanks to youtube, as far as I know:) Thanks to the tech savy aficionados
who upload these vintage gems for us all to enjoy & cherish, and in our own
ways we, by talking about it, promote & preserve the charm & beauty of this
kind of music! So, don't despair. :) There still are many who treasure &
listen to these kind of gems! Best Always. Ritu USA

imranwzd on Tuesday, December 23, 2008
Correction in the last line. I meant to write "Substantive" not sustentative.

kakkay1 on Friday, January 02, 2009
I have listened to Rafi since I was a child because of my, and I love him,
and thank my dad for having made us listen to him. I always LOVED this song
sooo much, but I did not know it was from this ridiculous movie, I can't
believe it, I saw this film for the first time last night on Zee TV and all
I can say is barf on me, it was utter crap!! Yet this song is so beautiful
it's transcends language, culture and time =)

cooldude2k6 on Friday, January 09, 2009
It is the greatness of Rafi that whatever the movie A grade or B grade, he
lent his soul to the song making it great. So, you have great songs on some
very bad actors in B grade movies.

Imran Khan on Tuesday, January 20, 2009
Beautiful lyric ever sung by Late Mohammed Rafi and Lata M. Thanks for
sharing this clip. Although actor/actress seems to be south Indian their
delivery of song does not do justice, still the song is best.

hellocarnatic on Sunday, February 08, 2009
We can do without this kind of unkind words about southern Indian actors -
some of the greatest were from the south: e.g. Vyjayantimala, Waheeda
Rehman, even Hema Malini.

Rafisaabsfan on Monday, February 09, 2009
thnks bro, for forwarding this song
jus lov it but as u said the actors dont do justice to the legends voice!!

vijayalakshmi10 on Saturday, February 14, 2009
Superb song by the great legends..Rafi, Lata and LP of course..thanks

eisobki66 on Wednesday, February 18, 2009
best song ever...

sonajoy on Saturday, February 21, 2009
I was drifting off to sleep one day when I heard this song. Lata's voice
comes on soft lulling you into a pleasant trance and then the music is
sudden and so loud (at 0:17) that I almost jumped out of my skin. It took a
while for my heart rate to return back to normal. Now everytime I hear this
song I brace myself.still, the song is melodious.thanks for the
upload.

Ronki sab on Saturday, March 07, 2009

Ronki sab on Saturday, March 14, 2009
I try to get out but where is the fresh air?

badaustad on Wednesday, March 25, 2009
Sounds like Rafi and Suman Kalyanpur. I could be wrong.
