Vijay Datta on Saturday, February 16, 2013 It does remind me of good old days when all the elders of my family used to
hum this particular one.I had the privilege of listening the song on my
Farmaish from Talatji during live concert in seventies. Thanks for taking me
back to those days. A great feeling indeed !
Bajimastani on Saturday, March 16, 2013 Lovely lyrics too. After all by Fayyaz!
Rajan Narasimhan on Sunday, April 07, 2013 I first heard this song in the 1940s when I was an eight year old in Delhi.
The tune remains etched in my memory even today. It is a haunting melody
sung soulfully by Talat as only he could. A moving experience listening to
this song. I sing on Karaoke but as this song is not on my list I sing it
anyway without accompaniment. I feel very fulfilled whenever I do so.
Ramesh Bhasin on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 Life booster dose through sweet audible range ...!!
Murali Iyer on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 Dear Mr Rajan, my senior office mate introduced me to this song in the
early eighties. Since then, I like to sing Talat's songs and I rever him,
to a great extent. Almost all of his songs are dear to me, particularly his
solos. . Please share this ghazal's karaoke, if you have it.
Rajan Narasimhan on Thursday, August 01, 2013 Dear Mr Murali, I am happy to find another Talat admirer, one who also
sings Talat songs. This is a very old Ghazal of the 1940s, a non filmi
ghazal, and one of his earliest renderings. It is a haunting melody and the
lyrics are very moving. Here is another Talat classic, " Hain sabse madhur
woh geet jinhe, hum dard ke sur mein gaate hain" based on the lines from
"Ode to a skylark" by Shelley, "Our sweetest songs are those that tell of
saddest thoughts". Happy singing! Rajan
