Comments for song "Shaam Dhale Jamuna Kinare Kinare"
shekarman on Tuesday, July 20, 2010
Yuan, I see your note about Shaam and Shyam. I would venture to say that
you are not too far off in the mis-spelling. For one, aside from the
dangers of transliterating Sanskrit words, the word Shaam and Shyam are
etymologically related. After all, Krishna was considered to be so dark
that he appeared blue -- which is the color light at dusk i.e., when the
evening is setting -- the meaning of "Shaam dhale". So, please continue
making such mistakes and posting such beautiful songs. Thanks.

yuanyuanyuanyin on Tuesday, July 20, 2010
- Thank you my dear [long time] friend for the extremely kind words.
I have made many mistakes in the past but these words are of very sensitive nature since they related to the religion. Hence my small note above.
Thank you again and take care.

Hi Yuan. TY. Taken by LP from Jaikishan's film Chori Chori tune of "Us paar sajan is paar dharey, le chal o manjhi kinare". It could be possible that Jaikishan took it from another MD or it's a folk made song tune. Either way, it's a nice duet.

Question for all Indian music lovers. What would these songs be, if there was no Urdu? Urdu mixed into Sanskrit, came out the so called "Hindi" language, right? How far would the film industry have gone if all was in "pure" Sanskrit?

Raaj Kotwal on Saturday, September 04, 2010
@RealMusicKing Do u know that Laxmikant Pyarelal were assistants of Shankar
Jaikishan and they have contributed to very large extent in the tunes of
S.J ?

Very beautiful and popular song which used to play on Radio quite often.
Manna Dey ji sings so soulfully. Thanks Niraj ji for sharing. Thumbs Up. Is
actress Rajshee Shantaram or Nayna Shahu? With respect. Sarla.

jasbongy on Wednesday, November 17, 2010
@jasbongy I don't know how i forgot to write about our adorable Lata ji?
Lata sings just brilliantly in her soft, soothing voice. But her voice is
very different here. How come ? Sarla.

Neeraj Gupta on Wednesday, November 17, 2010

Beautiful song. Soulful rich music. Long lasting effect. Thank you very much
for sharing.

sakasus on Saturday, February 12, 2011
Apart from music, Manna Dey himself had a rich folk-touch in his unique
voice.

vish2254 on Monday, February 14, 2011
@RealMusicKing shut the f@u*K up sanskrit it self is a language above
others it would be the same place t is today above all other

RealMusicKing on Tuesday, February 15, 2011
@vish2254 Yup. "f@u*K up" this is sanskrit in the "Raw". I have not met "ONE" Indian who would speak it. No civilized Indian speaks sanskrit today. They all have chosen Hindi(extracted from Urdu) as their Supreme language of their land. There would be no film industry ever since it began in 1914 without Hindi(extracted from Urdu). Indians from all parts of India listen to Hindi(extracted from Urdu) music and films. Therefore, Sanskrit is nulled & voided. :-)

Neeraj Gupta on Sunday, February 20, 2011
@sarathj Thank you my friend for saying such touching words. Indeed its the
greatest song. This song is about sun going down & Shaam is calling Radha.
I will do my best translate it near future.

rahe haay..

Great comment. There is only one God and there are different paths leading to him. We lose sight of the ultimate goal and fight over which path is the best. Ideally all the paths are the same. If everyone adopts this ideology then the world would be a better place to live in.

GREAT SONG. AND I AGREE WITH YOU OVER ONE MORE POINT, MANNA DE HAS SUNG IT BETTER THAN LATA MANGESHKAR.

THANKS TO NEERAJKAMINI FOR UPLOADING THIS LOVELY SONG.
