Comments for song "Raaz Ki Baat Hai, Nigaahen Milaane Ko Ji Chaahataa Hai"

The girl sitting to the left of Nutan (right of viewer) at 1:25 to 1:28 and then at 1.55 to 2.08 (second from right) is Saroj Khan. She is seen at various stages during the song in the front row. She can also be seen as a chorus dancer dressed like a boy (wearing a cap ) in 1958 movie Howrah Bridge in song "Aaeeye mehraban baithiye jane jan.." picturized on Madhubala.

orientlover1 on Wednesday, December 29, 2010
Meanings of some unfamiliar words: Tuhmat (calumny, false accusation); Lazzat (pleasant taste, deliciousness); Jalwa ( radiant appearance, splendid sight of beloved); Tamheed (introduction, preface).
The line " woh gadhi mere liye aish ki tamheed hui" was originally "woh gadhi tere mere ishq ki tamheed hui" but was altered as it was considered too explicit for the homely atmosphere in which it is picturised and not at a professional mujra.That shows Sahir Ludhianvi's mastery over poetry.

Ethereal Nutan!!

orientlover1 on Sunday, February 13, 2011
Part I:
It is a close secret, shall I say it or not;
Someone has settled in my heart, shall I say it or not.
How much I long to exchange glances;
How much I long to throw away my heart and soul.
That "blame" that people call by the name of "love";
How eagerly I desire to take upon myself that "blame".
The act of placating by someone brought so much joy;
That I wish to break off once again.
Yes, I wish to break off once again.
How much I long to throw away my heart and soul.

orientlover1 on Sunday, February 13, 2011
Part II:
That splendid sight which is hidden from the eye yet in the open;
I wish to steal that splendid sight for myself.
The moment my eyes were blessed with your sight;
That moment for me was an introduction to luxury.
Whenever I saw your beautiful face like the Moon;
May not be so but for me it was like Eid;
That splendid sight which is hidden from the eye yet in the open;
I wish to steal that splendid sight for myself.

orientlover1 on Sunday, February 13, 2011
Part III:
Please do send a message for a meeting;
As I love to come furtively;
And then do not wish to come back.
How much I long to exchange glances.
(A literal translation of Sahir Ludhianvi's poem. Three words were changed in the 14th line( 13th in the original poem). Please see my comment below for a possible explanation for this alteration. The film song contains one additional line not present in the original version. Orientlover posting from Lahore).

much more enjoyable.

one of Asha's best undoubtedly and certainly a treasure for music lovers

Psyche1954 on Sunday, April 24, 2011
this is a divine quwwali seeped in Shringar ras! Sahir ji is as ususal at
his best! the dancestyle is loosely based ( filmy) Katthak!! It is NOT the
purists style of Birju Mahraj! Roshanji of course shows his innovative use
of Yaman Kalyan to compose a quwwali! The rhythmic applause to follow the
basic beat and the chorus of the refrain is an essential part of the
quwwali traditionand designed to weave a hypnotic trance though originally
intended to convey devotion!

this is great indeed =)
but i'm sure we're not serving 'horrible noisy junk' in the name of desi music man!
why so much of negativity?

Lovely song .. Nutan ji is so graceful .. one does nt get to see her
dancing very often .. very charming face ... people say she was a great
person .. no wonder her beautiful heart is reflecting on her face .. the
qawwali is definitely one of the best qawwalis in indian cinema .. my
personal fav is na to kaarvan ki talash hain .. both have been composed by
the great Roshan ji .. thank you for the upload ..

ROSHANLAL NAGRATH DESERVES MUCH MORE CONGRAGULATIONS AND ADMIRATION /
APPRECIATION / PRAISE THAN WHAT ANYONE COULD OFFER . I CAN'T THINK OF ANY
MOVIE IN WHICH ROSHAN DISAPPOINTED THE AUDIENCE . NEVER. NEVER. NEVER.
ROSHANLAL NAGRATH THE GREAT COMPOSER ; GENIUS , OF COURSE.

@itsadib - make that 12 - they must be deaf or this fantastic masterpiece
is wasted on them.

The best thing about Actors and Acresses' life is that not only their
grandchildren but great grandchildren can see them how they looked young. I
just felt that I want to see my Grand parents how they looked when young as
long time back they left this world and we all have their old age picture.

and what a find. Thanks for uploading an adorable qawali. Reminds me 60s
whwn every music director churned out gems. We were so fortunate

Dr.G.Rama Narayana on Thursday, April 19, 2012
Roshan was known as Qawwali king! There was no other music director who
created more filmi qawwalis than Roshan! He utilised the versatile talent
of RafiSaheb,MannaDey and Ashaji for Qawwalis in BarsaatKiRaat,TajMahal,now
DilHiToHai and other films!He tuned this in his favourite Raag Yaman! What
a wonderful upload,Thanks!
