Comments for song "Pal Do Pal Ka Saath Hamara"

awesome awesome awesome
The beginning beats of drum is captivating. The tune is a sheer joy. After drums comes stings and later the beats doubles. All these thoughts makes it a Masterpiece from RD Burman's kitchen! Finally the song kicks off with the "alap" from Rafi and later Asha.. true cultural calling. Only annoying part is the out of the place music in between where Dharampa runs car. I wish RD didnt experimented with that part.

pravesh315 on Friday, October 24, 2008
No nitin, that car part is requirement of film picturisation.

but no doubt excellent song.

hobgoblin707 on Thursday, November 27, 2008
I wish this song as a solo with just Mohammed Rafi. Or at least replace Asha with Lata. I frequently skip over Asha's part with Rafi duets because she is hardly a match for him. The exceptions are OP Nayyar songs (where Asha is in top form thanks to OP's direction). Lata is the only female singer who holds ground with Rafi Sahab and whom I listen and enjoy equally well in duets with Rafi. Rafi starts the song so beautifully. Thanks for sharing!

londoniran on Sunday, December 14, 2008
not even Lata could match his pitch. she sounded like a cat being squashed. as for asha she only got the songs since she slept with OP and RD.HEHHE!WHAT great art.

No doubt Rafi saab is always great but in this song Asha ji is more sweet touchy n superb than the master.
RDBurman is unique...

budtameez on Friday, July 31, 2009
two singers make this a great song Rafi Sahb and Asha Ji.

The end of the song rocks. Asha tai is truly goddess Saraswati. No one can sing like her. Truly awesome.

THANKS for the post. While Michael Jackson (I agree, that he invented pop) and Elvis P covered the West corner, then Mo. Rafi covered the East corner. He did Qawali, Romanitc, Solos, Duets, Sad's, wanton's, religious, pop/rock of his time..U name it. In other words, he covered the entire rainbow of the music world and he was gifted. He did not need musical instruments' support, musical instruments needed his...

Thanks for your comments. Music does not need any language to be liked. People will like the music regardless of the language spoken.

Its very difficult to judge the three great late Indian Male playback singers
Rafi, Mukesh and Kishore Kumar.

I feel Mohammad Rafi was the Best among the three. God Gift.

Thanks & Regards,

I dont agree with you bilkul. Bilkul ghalat hai. Kishore and Mukesh are singers, great singers. But as a foreigner -I AM NOT AN INDIAN BILKUL, let me tell you something, Md Rafi is an institution and not only a singer (A testimony of Mana Dey on Zee TV not from my part). I don't understand hindi people bilkul why they are comparing between who made bollywood pleasant and give it an international audience and other anonymous artists (for us). To be continued:::

2nd, i will help you to make a judgement, i hope so : As every child, in France, my father, in the 60's, took me to the cinema to watch some hindi movies like Mother India, Dosti and Shree 420 etc. At those times Raj Kapoor was playbacked by Mukesh (who is a common voice for us, plenty singers did the same way in Europe) and suddenly we have discovered 'The Goldy Voice', unique, melodious, powerful, in one word versatile as you can not imagine. Elvis of India

3 - Kishore was an actor, but his voice was common and not interesting at all. I have discovered Rafi Sahab in 'Yaad Na jaye' in Dil Ek Mandir and from those times and tried to learn Hindi/Urdu ( who is the singer you know capable to do this with people) just to understand what he sang. I remember a big performance who did Rafi S. and let the audience crazy in 'Geet' with Leila Majnu about 8 minutes in the 70's.

4 - In Europe nobody knows Kishore or Mukesh but when you say Lata or Rafi they answer you 'Bollywood' that why Rafi is great than others : International audience. What he did with a complete sucess. If Mohamed Rafi was born in Europe, they give him the right place, he desserves - at the top of the tops. Comparison is not reason. If all women in India decide to give born to another Rafi, they can't. Rafi is a masterpiece from God. Ek bulbul. Merci.

Raag Kedar..!! Looks like the first lines are composed based on Gujarati
song " Kahu chhu Javani ne Pachhi vali ja Ghadapan nu ghar mari aavi gayu
chhe.." Excellent Composition,

Lawl, i visted europe lots of time,.. they know as much about Rafi than they know about Mukesh and Kishore loooool. In Surinam people were divided in Mukesh and Rafi camps. But i do agree, Rafi is a masterpiece!

arzaadmirza on Monday, March 19, 2012
Mukesh is the most populair in Turkey, Russia, Polen, even in afganistan and Iran people favour Mukesh above other singers. check it here on u tube, and that was mainly because Raj kapoor movies were very populair in those countrys. However Rafi reaches a wider Audiance because of his verstaility. Mukesh was limited to sing in few genres, but was the master in the gengres he sang.

Of course, i was born in France exactly. Marsh 1956. Mukesh was and is perfectly unknown. Even after R.K Shree 420. The problem is as follows : Despite the fact that Mukesh is a great singer in India (no doubt about it), for us he is a common singer and we have thousant singers like him. M. Rafi is a phenomena not cause of his versatility but caue of his very melodious and magic voice. Male human being voices can reach between 80hz and 400 hz. Guess how much can reach M.Rafi ?

The best soprano can reach 528 hz as Md Rafi did. Technics ! Despite the popularity and the audience of each one, as an old sailor. I can tell you that Md Rafi is most popular in Turkey and Colombo (Sri Lanka) Md Rafi sang in Tamul and Telugu. In Russia, the first most popular indian movie was Sangam and to be honest 'Bhol Rada Bhol' was a hit but 'Yeh mera prem patra' in the same movie reached the top of the songs. Behind Md Rafi there is Mahindra Kapoor. Amazing voice. Samja

Mukesh ji was intimately connected with RK. It's an obstacle. He jailed him to playback some characters like 'jokers' and disapointed lovers. Do you know who is the most popular hindi movie till now. It's 'Mother India' and it's the movie who has opened the doors to an international audience for Bollywood. The second one was Dosti. How much songs Mukesh did in these two movies. Lata M. and Md Rafi opened The road for indian industry and all actors. Samjah ! Ek dost, dushman nahin.

Hahahahah, there is only 1 Mukesh, there aren't thousand singers like him, just as there is just 1 Rafi. But no my friend Mukesh and Raj Kapoor were the first to enter Europe with Aawara, in Turkey and Russian Cinema. They are immitated there and respected /watch?v=b63ahp2A9qE watch?v=v4gihnxXT3w / please don't compare Western Music styles like Soprano's etc 2 Indian Singers because you can'r sort indian singers in boxes as soprano etc / I am a Rafi fan Btw, Mukesh is underrated by everyone

I love the switchover between melody of the song and the music of speed
(train / car shots). Still the consistency of the rhythm not hurt. Amazing!

One of the best compositions of Pancham da... no one can match RD... is one
and only!!!

Well, in long journeys, people play antakshari. We may not sing like Rafi &
Asha, but singing is common when a group of people travel in train journeys.

Narasimhan Ramachandran on Friday, May 24, 2013
It is a great song, with qawwali and the tension of the fire accident mixed
together. "Is manzil par milne wale, us manzil par ho jane hai" also means
the train may crash and all may go to heaven.
