A beatful song of LATA JI for beautyful actress.

chocobrownie7 on Friday, March 28, 2008
My alltime favourite song...can listen to it all day and all night without getting fed up.

sonny19xx on Monday, May 12, 2008
Thanks prodipdas. What a song ! Madan- lata combo . Though the "mera saya" title song is more popular with the masses but this one is not to be underestimated and this is my personal fav. This is raag Bhimpalas ? whatever the power of Indian classical music is in full glow.

mbaamex on Wednesday, May 21, 2008
Truly a superb song by Lata Mangeshkar and splendid music by Madan Mohan. Magical combination.

Haseena07 on Thursday, May 29, 2008
Sadhana always wears such eautiful sarees in every movie. elegance compliments her style very well.

FUNDAMENTAL09 on Friday, May 30, 2008
Fantastic song ! Madan Mohan at his creative best. The lyrics, the heavenly tune, the introductory sitar & santoor music and the interluding orchestra pieces... all these had, in the golden era of music, raised the bar (standerd) to such a level that no composer can reach it today. Absolutely awesome song !

FUNDAMENTAL09 on Friday, May 30, 2008
Yes. it is based on raag BHIMPALASI.

infomax1979 on Tuesday, June 03, 2008

Wow simply amazing, I had listened to this song ages back on an old audio cassette! Lata's voice even on that was incomparable! I'm seeing the picturization of the song for the first time and am getting goose bumps! They dont make them like this any more! I wonder if the current generation even realizes that such amazing compositions even exist!
Thanks for posting this and thanks to Youtube for us being able to view such great oldies!

nitish971 on Sunday, July 27, 2008
I have no words to describe this song. It takes me straight to the heaven. It definitely would rank, arguably, as the greatest song in the history of Hindi cinema. Unarguably, lataji is at her divine best proving she is the greatest fo all time.

jhumki28 on Thursday, July 31, 2008

rahulglasgow on Sunday, October 19, 2008
Best audio quality for this stunning song is on itunes. Also, BBC when it shows Indian films, has the best quality print, even better than Star or Zee.

dnag02 on Thursday, October 23, 2008
What an immensely beautiful composition of Madan Mohan saab and an unparalleled rendition in Lataji's unrivaled voice!! It is amazing that this number almost 50 yrs old still sounds so unbelievably melodic. The stunningly Goddess-like beautiful face in my wild imagination did not match with the one in the movie though.

gautamdeusa on Wednesday, October 29, 2008
Very beautiful song... based on immortal raga Bhimpalasi...
Shame on today's Bollywood composers...

chamogaa on Wednesday, November 12, 2008
A masterpiece, indeed, and emblematic of the sublime quality of Bollywood music of a bygone era. Let the current Bollywood folks learn something from the ethereal and everlasting quality of this heritage of raga-based music. Much of today's music is shabby, coarse , and transient in value.-- here today, gone tomorrow!

anukahai on Tuesday, November 18, 2008
thanks,
divine voice, beautiful face of hindi film industry minus bachans.

sanjayd411 on Monday, December 22, 2008
Oh my! What to say about this song and its music? Masterpiece of all the masterpieces. Madan Mohan's genius on display with Lataji's haunting voice in this song.

sjalcapricorn on Tuesday, December 23, 2008
Amazing song!Sort of hypnotizing, really.

ritupm on Saturday, December 27, 2008
What an amazing composition! :) The scintillating sitar, the beautiful lyrics, the longing in the voice! Awesome musical masterpiece. I've always loved singing this song! Been to the Lake Palace's beautiful Gazebo like view point they sing at in the beginning - Gosh, everything about this song is poignant! The location, the orchestra, the lyrics. Classic. Thank you for sharing this. :) Best Always. Ritu, California, USA

what shall I say about this beautiful song. Sad and meloncholic or just a beautiful rendition. My heart is full and my eyes are moist. Let the sining tribes go on. The sweetest songs of our lives are those that tell us of our saddest thoughts.

sanjayd411 on Saturday, January 24, 2009
Fully agree with you. Today's Bollywood composers are a disgrace to Indian music.

bharatjdesai on Friday, May 08, 2009
Such composition and combination occur once in life time and can not be repeated. Immortal.

dnag02 on Monday, May 11, 2009
You could not be more appropriate. Proportionate credit goes to Madan Mohan's genius, the music director besides Lataji's unparalled rendition in her unparalleled voice.

MADAN MAAHAAAN he was realy a mahan composer for eg this song iz composed in raag BHEEM PILASEE i have not seen more beautiful composition in this raag than this song lata once said that during recording of this song one the musician was not playing up to the mark he hit his fist in anger to one of the window glass and became injured and said SUR KA SATH MAZAK NA KARO 03332604292

sanjayd411 on Saturday, June 06, 2009
Stunning song! I have loved this song since I was a child. Madan Mohan and Lataji gave some timeless classics each one better than the other. This one is certainly at the top of the list.

4yoreyes on Sunday, June 07, 2009
Rehmaan has a long way to go yet. Yet there need not be any conflct between the best of our traditions in music as this gem of a song (in the same league as "aap ki nazaron nai samjha") exemplifies and our musical future which Rahmaan embodies.

z8eyb on Wednesday, June 10, 2009
really this song is a masterpiece in raag Bhimpalasi.Lata and Madan Mahaan jodi has given some really beautiful songs ever...I wud say ghazals rather...Madan mohan was a ghazal king

If there is a better combination than Lata and Madan, I don't know who they are.
