think you missed the point of Holy Smoke mate, its not attacking any religion,its showing how that kind of discrimination is ridiculous and uses that as a vehicle to explore the relationship between the two characters. In the end-the mother who originally wants her daughter back ends up in India with her, and the guy trying to break her ends up with his wife and kids and out of his profession.The characters are bigoted of course but discrimination was not the intention of the film
