Comments for song "Mere Mehboob Tujhe, Meri Mohabbat Ki Kasam (By Lata)"
bhiiisham on Thursday, October 30, 2008 I think this one suited Rafi saab more :)
Tariq Rasheeduddin on Thursday, November 13, 2008 Well I used to listen to Rafi sahib this song. When I listened to this song
by Lata with attention I am totally struck!! I thought what Rafi sahib sung
could no one sung. But Lata ji is Lata. Perfect is a small work, she is
unsurpassable in the history of Gayeki. This is how history is made!
Pratik Lo on Monday, December 01, 2008 wah wah! better than rafi's.
countrymusic12344 on Thursday, January 22, 2009 Lata you are the best förever !
Shivi Sidhu on Monday, February 09, 2009 Everlasting song sung beautifully by lata ji. For some reason, I find that
there is more emotion and subtleties in Rafi sahib's version. Does anyone
agree?
Aisha Ibitoye on Saturday, February 21, 2009 she zo prewtty
Diya Jee on Thursday, April 09, 2009 Dil Ki Dhadkan Tujhe Awaaz Deye Jaati Hei.! <3
gafmirza on Friday, April 10, 2009 simply second best to rafi shaib, lata great as usual,,
zakikhan52 on Saturday, April 25, 2009 Sadna is simply beautiful. Song well both are goood . So just enjoy.
ytub7 on Sunday, April 26, 2009 People often wrongly compare the same song sung by Rafi and Lata like this one, or Ahsaan tera...What we need to understand is that these songs were originally made for the MALE actor in the movie and hence the female is asked to sing it very plainly because she is just repeating it...So if Lata copy's Rafi's style that will sound ridiculous like a female singing in male style. Similarly Rafi cannot sing Rasik Balma or Sharma aati hai magar made for Lata and copy her style.
ytub7 on Sunday, April 26, 2009 Also, Lata and Rafi both being the BEST, I am sure they can easily copy each other and sing EXACTLY alike but that will be more of a mimicry and will not suit the movie scene. Male singing has slight machoism (Rafi's style of singing) whereas Lata's has a female's delicacy, shyness etc, which is required for a female.
ReALiTy BiTeS on Saturday, May 30, 2009 A man can only make such kind of comment for sure. T hey suffer from this
disease from birth called male chauvenitis.have you
heard khushi -khushi kar lo vida. listen to that song.then you will know
which occasion makes them cry...marriage to a nasty male
paradigmnnf on Tuesday, June 02, 2009 Who is that nasty male you are married to? (or perhaps skipped getting
married?)
paradigmnnf on Tuesday, June 02, 2009 Lata's impeccable Urdu pronunciation... Indeed. Nobody I have ever heard
coming close to her-- in correctness or in style!
paradigmnnf on Tuesday, June 02, 2009 BTW, there are lots of better examples of sad songs sung by Lata (many of
them picturized on Nimmi.
metipsm on Saturday, June 20, 2009 Obviously, opinion of Iqbal Khan. We won't expect anything different.
Shivi Sidhu on Monday, June 22, 2009 In sangeet we only talk sangeet. Please dont bring religion into this.
Rafeh on Monday, July 13, 2009 The dard comment "haha" well said. But yae ; I do agree with what you said!
I just hope people would understand.
bhiiisham on Friday, July 31, 2009 So, just because I have an opinion I get two thumbs down? All I said was
that for whatever reason, I like Rafi's version better. How that statement
translates to "Rafi was better than Lata" or that I am a male chauvinist, I
do no know. I never compared them both...all I said was that I, for my
listening, prefer Rafi's version of this song. Sigh...talk about being
tolerant and letting people have opinions.
bhiiisham on Friday, July 31, 2009 Yes, go ahead and thumb down the above comment too. I know you intolerant
asses will.
Baber Zaman on Saturday, August 08, 2009 Dear bhiiisham, I appreciate your comments very much, and above all, the
statement that you have an opinion and you have a right to have it. I do
not know how to do thum up, or thum down. But, I do certainly appreciate
your stand, and your opinion. In discussions about some other videos, some
one very rightly pointed out that, in most cases, these are male songs
which, due to the story, the female person has to repeat. There are natural
limitations to it. Please see Part II
Baber Zaman on Saturday, August 08, 2009 Part II In my student life (at the age of 18/19), we friends used to sit in
a restaurant/tea house. The radio or gramophone record, some times, played
this song, usually in Lata version. I got so much absored in it that I
begged others "not even to sigh" during this song. One of our somewhat
elderly friends often got iritated. Not because I requested the group to be
silent, but because he lamented that my taste for music was appaling,
worthless, and disappointing. Please see Part 3
Baber Zaman on Saturday, August 08, 2009 Part III The male version is longer, more "full", and has a greater thrust.
When I look back, I tend to think that it was the beginning of the period
when great poets were just beginning to use the words "Meri Mehboob", or
"Meray Mehboob". Examples : Faiz Ahmed Faiz wrote :"Mujh sey pehli si
mohabbat, MERI MEHBOOB naN maaNg". Sahir Ludhianvi said " MERI MEHBOOB
kaheeN aur Mila Kar Mujh Sey" i.e. not at Taj Mahal. Shakil Badayuni
brought a challenging reply to Sahir's poem. Please see part IV
Baber Zaman on Saturday, August 08, 2009 Part IV "Ik Shahanshah Nay Bana Kay Haseen Taj Mahal..." In our song,
Shakil Badayuni is practically at the climax of his art. The composers,
singers and musicians, every one has done wondres, be it male or female
version. Two years ago, after breaking my leg in an accident, I spent my
evenings in an Asian restaurant and saw a DVD which included only Lata
version. Usually, upon hearing the tune, the voice and words "Meray
Mebboob", European customers, "stopped eating". See Part V
Baber Zaman on Saturday, August 08, 2009 Part V It used to be somewhat similar to what we we see here in the actions
of Johnny Walkjer and the hero. People who did not understand a word of the
language, remained motionless until the song was over. Believe me I saw it
many times. So, I used to think about those days when my elderly friend, an
expert in "classical" music, used to admonish me for my poor taste. Time
had given its verdit ! The Rafi version, to begin with, is the original
expression of passionate love by a male person.
bhiiisham on Saturday, August 08, 2009 I understand your point and accept it. I am 23 years old so I have no
emotional stories related to these songs. I love old hindi songs, and
though that makes me a "boring" fellow among my friends, who cares. My
point was, I made no comparison between Lata and Rafi. Two different
singers each with their own skills. All I said was, I prefer the male
version of this song...as it expresses my feelings better for me.
Shafi Bhat on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 I m 28 n hv been listening to Lata n Rafi since i was a kid , i can say i
hv grown up listening to both of them n almost know all of their songs. i
love them both for their wonderful n unique treasure of songs that they
have given. BUT now this comparison between both of them luks quite silly
for me.. they have been at the top among either gender singers..
ramaraksha01 on Sunday, December 06, 2009 It goes both ways - In the movie Arzoo (bewitching Sadhana again) both Rafi
and Lata sing the same song - Aji Rooth Kar Ab Kahan - Lata's was far
better. In terms of longevity, Lata outlasted Rafi. Lata is the better
singer because she had more range - Rafi's voice doesn't go up very high.
But I agree that both are great, and we can be fans of both singers
vlohani on Monday, December 07, 2009 You ought to be kidding sir, if Rafi's voice can't go very high then all the other singers including Lata shall be doomed to be considered inarticulate. The fact that Rafi version in Arzoo was small doesn't mean that he rendered it inferior to Lata- in fact each and every moment when Rafi sings the song, his command is so much supreme that one can't help marvel at the ease with which he delivers the song.
As for range, it is well known Rafi outstrips anyone by miles
But no hard feelings intended
ramaraksha01 on Tuesday, December 08, 2009 vlohani: let me take a wild guess and say you are a Rafi fan? What gave you
away? That's clouding your judgement a bit. There are a lot of great
singers and we can enjoy all of their great songs - Saigal, Mukesh, Lata,
Asha, Rafi, Kishore, Manna Dey.
metipsm on Sunday, December 20, 2009 For me Lata is the best female singer and Rafi the best male singer and I
want to listen to both of them. They have sung some wonderful duets
together.
guyanesesoulja3 on Sunday, January 03, 2010 Does anyone know the resung version to this song?
I can't find it anywhere!
dubbooman on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 rafi's version of this song has far more depth, emotions, he sings the
words like he really means each word , giving every word a totally broad
perspective. lata is a great singer but just does not match the version by
rafi. anyways the version sung by rafi is the one which gained acclaim and
unless you saw the movie one is not even aware the lata sang the same song
StopWarIndustry on Thursday, January 14, 2010 The song was originally written for the male 7 has characteristics of it..
but she is good too and sweet. But definitely the male voice is MOVING and
superior.
StopWarIndustry on Thursday, January 14, 2010 This girl looks like an Afghani Girl in my university here in USA. Is she
Afghani? They eat a lot of yogurt ..part of Afghani food (yummy,
delicious).. -- I was told which gives them that wonderful waxy skin...
Feleqech on Thursday, January 28, 2010 She is not Afghani (although I am sure they are beautiful:) She is Indian,
her name is Sadhna and she was a famous Bollywood actress in the 1960s.
paradigmnnf on Monday, March 01, 2010 @Feleqech This just shows that religion does not shape the looks... It is
is just another kind of makeup.

erarshadharoon on Saturday, August 14, 2010 if anyone doubts that lataji is inferior to any one, i say anyone then listen to "ae mere watan ke logon zara aankh mein bhar lo paani"
lqacwaz1 on Monday, August 16, 2010 @erarshadharoon "ae mere watan ke logon zara aankh mein bhar lo paani" is a
jingoist poisonous song. Why bring it in here of all places?
