Perhaps the best of the stanzas can be picked to get a sufficiently short anthem. At least this song was not written to welcome British King George like many claim the current one was.

AbhijitDubashi on Sunday, May 27, 2007 Coming back to the song 'Mere Desh Ki Dharti', although a good song, I feel it speaks only of India's material resources and focuses on an agricultural economy, thus coming off as a tad Socialist. India is a lot more than Gold, Silver, or a few freedom fighters such as Gandhi, S.C.Bose, Nehru, etc. This song doesn't capture India's cultural history in all its entirety and there is less focus on Unity in Diversity.
I think our current National Anthem is just fine.
