Comments for song "Malhar Jam"
Nikhil Mohankrishnan on Thursday, September 06, 2012 You know what really pisses you off.when stuff like this has just 40,000
views and Kolaver di gets umpteen millions getting shared across the world
as the creative wave of Indian music...sigh...oh well.all I can say
is this is one of the best fusions I ve heard..absolutely ethereal to
the level that you could feel the energy of the performance...All the best
Agam & Coke Studio...may there be many more enthralling performances and in
the end may the true essence & spirit of music win
gautam kale on Friday, September 07, 2012 Very Sad to here this... Malhar is Totally missing ... i know vocalists is
Riyaazi... BUt feel is absolutely missing. I request COKE pls maintain
the essence of RAGA because Young Generation is watching this ... according
to me Malhar is not like this ... This sounds like More of Bindravani
Sarang.
Harish Sivaramakrishnan on Sunday, September 09, 2012 @BrechtMUSIC its an esraaj, played by ustad Ashad khan
karthrags on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 Unfortunate that he was missed out in the description. Maybe you fix it?
Many people would want to know the instrument and player of such a
beautiful sound :)
Nupur Singh on Thursday, September 13, 2012 this is awesome music. Where have you guys been till now? Expecting more
epic stuff from u
Kedar Karmarkar on Sunday, September 16, 2012 Wow! What a piece! This is one of the best pieces on Coke Studio Season 2!
Amazing, uplifting and energetic, that was a beautiful carnatic fusion
tarana. The tabla sounds wonderful, but I missed the sound of the Mridangam
too ;-) Any case, this is first rate music, thoroughly enjoyed this one.
Boby Mohan on Monday, September 17, 2012 Please learn to understand and write good English would be my request to
you Mr.Venkatasubramanian. My statement with ref to Hamsadhvani was a
general take on the 'fusion' scene in Carnatic music not to this specific
video. You are free to your views and I guess one's choice of language in
public reflects more on the upbringing than anything else. God bless you!
Boby Mohan on Monday, September 17, 2012 Honestly guys, please read my comment slowly. Hamsadhvani was used in a
very general sense and in reference to the prevalent Carnatic 'fusion'
scene, where this is the most commonly mangled one; when your title says
Malhar, one ought to be blind and deaf to call this anything else. As a
composer, I understand your sense of ownership and appreciate it too.
Without that pride, one won't be creative. In the same vein, as a listener
am I not entitled to my views and preferences? Good luck
Harish Sivaramakrishnan on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 Boby, Thanks for writing in - Again. I would like to reiterate, we value
your opinion and feedback and will work towards doing better as musicians.
We do not specifically agree to your bracketing our effort to be the same
as playing "Vathapi Ganapathim" with guitars + keys and have a drums +
mridangam + ghatam standoff (taniavarthanam) at the end. We have worked
hard to not play music like that and believe have done more than that.
Thanks again for engaging in this conversation. Appreciate it.
Mangesh Bale on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 Exellent !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Archith Sonty on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 I think Megh Malhar was never used in a better way...Hats off Harish...Keep
up the work..id call you to my college if i could for a performance..and
the mix of brindavan sarang makes it better..and if u dont mind a
suggestion...if u havent try a fusion in the raag Jog and Desh...they fall
good on the ears..
Archith Sonty on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 it is not brindavan sarang per se...they are very similar ragas.there is
a daivata in the middle..that gives it the malhar touch...while the nishada
imples its brindavani sarang.
irfanhatrickpathan on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 wow stunning, superb blend of carnatic and rock music.thank u cs and

Amrutanshu Mishra on Friday, September 28, 2012 The music is phenomenal, but for me what steals the cake is the voice.
Harish's voice quality is amazingly phenomenal. Oh and a big shoutout for
my buddy Jaggu on the acoustic guitar :)
Arnab Biswas on Saturday, September 29, 2012 Love the flute and the voice...does remind me of the culturally rich

Payel Kar on Tuesday, November 06, 2012 I like the original much much more!
Payel Kar on Thursday, November 08, 2012 Yeah the older version... That one is.. awesome !!! Love your new album,
you guys were my first live show at HRC Bangalore..so special :)
Payel Kar on Thursday, November 08, 2012 The older version brought out the percussion and the vocals blended in pure
magic, the coke studio version had flute, though the flute was exceptional
but i somehow felt that it took over too much limelight and made the whole
piece lost its harmonious blend. The flute piece become more prominent. BUT
thats what i felt...love your work!
