I am a non-Hindi speaker, however Madhuri in all her splendour can
transcend language & cultural barriers. I am not partial to Salman in the
slightest, but did feel that Madhuri helped him 'raise the bar'. I have
seen HAHK several times & felt it would be wonderful on stage also. Its
very Indian social setting means it is not necessarily fully appreciated by
non-Indians, but Madhuri forces the more articulate among us to take note &
we are all the better for it.

this is the best song ever! its been stuck in my head for days :)

Qwlagoobeirtch on Thursday, August 21, 2008
im not really familiar with this type of music, what type of instrument is she using in the intro?

Mysterious989 on Thursday, August 21, 2008
This song is so sweet. The entire movie was made well too. These days they just dont make movies that have the remotest notion of love... everything looks so obviously fake for some reason

hooKS299 on Friday, August 22, 2008
yeah it means something like . mother, mother on the edge of your roof a
crow is cawing

devilishtouch on Saturday, August 23, 2008
did u notice da romance between MAdz n Sallu...Sallu looks @ her thrgh the lamp post n she looks @ him from behind her mom...beautiful.i think diz iz da purest form of romance.

Liger Renegade on Saturday, August 23, 2008
Oh yeah me too, they just don't have movies like this anymore.

rahuls1s on Sunday, August 24, 2008
I agree with you. They just lost the taste of how to make movies and now
they have all the movies with club setting where you can't see what's shown
before the screen changes. what's even worst is the fact that you get your
eyes strained by watching today's so called "high budget" movies.

rahuls1s on Sunday, August 24, 2008
she is using a guitar but the music in back ground is mix of flute, piano
and guitar.

hooKS299 on Sunday, August 24, 2008
yeah i agree... i also like the very end where he pulls her near her.. that
is so romantic!

devilishtouch on Wednesday, August 27, 2008
the instrumnt is similar to rubab or sitar

shamzx on Saturday, September 06, 2008

kahooli1 on Wednesday, September 17, 2008
When the West is moving towards the east to learn family
values, spiritualism etc..we should never give up or look down at the good
values of our culture..this movie makes it possible..such a rich culture
and great values in this movie..i always miss MY INDIA when i watch this
movie :-(

manavlk on Saturday, September 20, 2008
West is looking to India for family values and Indians are looking towards West for money. No wonder you miss "YOUR INDIA".

Mala Naveen on Monday, September 22, 2008
So a girl dancing in front of a pool is the real India? Get real.

Tasair on Wednesday, September 24, 2008
timeless movie...i can never get sick of it!

khanismine on Friday, October 03, 2008
They just don't make movies like this anymore...great movie never gonna get sick of watching it

hhcpostathome on Saturday, October 04, 2008
Love this movie! It's fun, charming, sad, and feel good all-in-one.
Fantastic music and dancing. It is interesting to consider this movie as a
reflection of Indian cultural values. One element that continuously pops up
in many Bollywood movies, and indeed here, is the arranged marriage. I
suspect that there is an internal present day conflict between the
exceptence of traditional arranged marriages, based on duty, and
contemporary, western influenced marriages, based on love.

ArmaansGirl on Monday, October 13, 2008
i kno! i wtch it at last 10 tyms a motnht! n when i eva i hve nutihn 2 do i

Mala Naveen on Tuesday, October 14, 2008
I don't feel brave when admit that I feel Indians too often use silly dance
scenes to define their Indianess. And when the rating on my view just
confirm my sad observation.

Aimanrox on Sunday, October 19, 2008
i agree!! Love this movie! its an all time favorite!

rocio421 on Sunday, October 19, 2008

cutiegirl101pies on Tuesday, October 28, 2008
I LOVE MADHURI DIXIT and her fantavulous dance moves

AksheeShadow on Monday, November 10, 2008
thats nice to know. well a lot of non indians and indians who reside in
west consider us indian females to be too dumb because we do not agree with
certain things. I am in US and I hear that a lot of times lol :P

hhcpostathome on Tuesday, November 11, 2008
Could this be because Indian women are brought up in a more sheltered
environment then Indian men,in Indian society? Not to say that any one
gender is smarter then the other. But,that, maybe one gender is taught, and
indeed, encouraged to learn about knowledge of worldly affairs(here,I'm
talking about men,of course). Then,it's not a question of intellect, but of
knowledge. The few Indian women I know are every bit as intelligent as
Americans.I mean,c'mon, look at all the Indian women scientists out there

AksheeShadow on Tuesday, November 11, 2008
Oops sorry by dumb i didnt mean in terms of brain I should have used meek
or something. Well its not about sheltered environment, urban women in
india is well educated as males. I think its just the narrow mindedness of
males who think we are meek :D. Well u got too serious I was talking on a
lighter note :) Personally I belive women are quite smarter its just as
they can do multitasking better they loose focus early :) but some overcome
dat too :)

hhcpostathome on Wednesday, November 12, 2008
Okay. Well, I noticed Madhuri Dixit usually plays the role of very strong
women - the kind that don't settle for excepted stereotypes or excepted
prejudices that may still exist in Indian society for women. I respect
that. And, boy, I just love to see her smile...oops, sorry, off topic, lol

AksheeShadow on Wednesday, November 12, 2008
Yeah she does. I love her in lajja and mrityudata. I also love her
dancing and yeah her smile is awesome :)

DesiRani420 on Wednesday, November 12, 2008

desidol22 on Monday, November 17, 2008
i think its punjabi

suhanisood on Wednesday, November 19, 2008
maye ne maye- hey listen mamma chan mahiya mahiya mere dhol sipahiya my
good looking beloved

sam14450 on Wednesday, November 19, 2008
Sister do not listen to anything nonsense about Indian women. I have been
in the west for 40 years and I think I have seen everything. There is no
match for classic Indian woman. I still remember my older Bhabhi
jee/mother/older sister/ symbol of purity/love/sacrifice/ love/. India is
rich because mostly of Indian culture. Be very proud of your heritage. I
came here thinking these people are ahead of us, now I know they are/were
total bankrupt. Take this suggestion from your brother. Sam

sam14450 on Wednesday, November 19, 2008
Dear sister Rani: it is based on punjabi folk song let me give you a little
background. We in punjab believe when " black crow" sits on your roof top
and crows he/she is trying to tell you something.": Punjab bore the brunt
of wars all the time,at least one son is/was in army. His beloved developed
such illusions. Anyway in this song This girl is telling mother crow is
telling this girl is mature now she is should get married because she is in
love with some one. Take care little sister.

cutiegirl101pies on Tuesday, November 25, 2008
yes but only some parts of it is punjabi
