Thanks for posting this beautiful song. Does any one upload parts of this
great movie, Anand Math?

rumahale on Tuesday, July 20, 2010
@watumaly Thanks for liking.

"Anandmath" was of course writren by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay and so
was "Vande Mataram" (a part of the novel itself) but this song is from
Jaidev's Geet Govindam, if I have not mistaken. Anyway, considering the
divine rendering, excellent composition and Unimaginably beautiful
harmonisation... This is one of my most favourite songs of the Hemant
Kumar-Geeta Dutt duo...

@sounak93 Thanks for the liking, comments and information on lyrics. I am
since corrected.

@rumahale You are most welcome. Thanks to you for relying on what I said,
despite me haivng mentioned "...If I have not mistaken"! Feel very nice to
see that you have already made the change in the written part! Anyway, it
is only my memory which said as I informed, if possible, recheck it from
some other sources also (to be perfectly sure)...

@sounak93 These verses are from Jaidev's Geet Govindam as you have rightly
mentioned. There are 10 verses incorporated in Geet Govindam and is known
as the 'Dash-avatara Stotram'. It has description of 10 avatars of Vishnu,
but in the song only 4 avataras are mentioned.

@safronfield Yes, it is begins with "Pralayapayodhi Jale Dhritavanasi
Vedam"... Although The Songs Begins With A Part Of Another Stotram..."Hare
Murare Madhukaitabhare"... Perhaps to maintain brevity, only a part of the
Stotram has been used!

@sounak93 Thanks for the information.

rumahale on Saturday, October 30, 2010
@sounak93 "safronfield" has provided more inputs. I have also since
checked. Thanks again. More follows as reply to comments from "safronfield".

rumahale on Saturday, October 30, 2010
@safronfield The song has in fact 5 avataras mentioned viz. Matsya (mina),
Vamana, Rama, Buddha and Kalki. I regret my posting of video is not
complete - it is without "hare muraare madhu kaitabha haare gopaala govinda
mukunda shaure pralaya payodhi jale, dhrutavan asi vedam" I am really sorry
for the incomplete version. "wwwgeetaduttcom" has posted full version on
July 04, 2009 that has full lyrics I have mentioned in the introduction.
Thanks for the clarification.
