RD Burman used this tune again for Sagar Kinare from Sagar, 'cos he liked
it so much

CNiru's Awesome Channel on Friday, July 13, 2007
He even used a similar tune in "Hume aur jeene ki ..." (Agar tum na hote -
1983), which also has part of the "Sagar kinare" tune. :) ... but looks
like this is the "parent" tune !! ... looks like RD split the tunes of this
song into two different song ! ha ha !

Tamal De on Friday, October 26, 2007
Actually When this song was created, it didnt catch the audiance. It wasnt
a hit. But Rahul ji was so confident about this tune he remade it into the
Sagar Kinare. One thing worth noticing is that he only used the "Sthayi"
Part for remakes... the antara parts were different for the other song. RD
Burman had impeccable knowledge about the Indian Classical Ragas, otherwise
this would have been really difficult.

@govind75 R.D. was NO GENIUS ATALL!!! HE WAS JUST ANOTHER COMPOSITION LIFTER(COPYCAT). HE LIFTED SOO MANY WESTERN COMPOSITIONS. GENIUS IS ALWAYS 'ORIGINAL'!!.

honeygodoo9 on Friday, October 22, 2010
r.d. burman is certainly one of the most over-rated music composer. i feel ashamed!! when i hear his compositions in hindi which r shamelessly directly lifted from western compositions.

honeygodoo9 on Friday, April 22, 2011
@manimajra1 COPY CAT WILL REMAIN A COPYCAT NO MATTER WAT U SAY!! EINSTEIN, OSHO,BUDDHA,RABINDRANATH TAGORE,ADDISON ETC. ETC...THESES PEOPLE COMES UNDER THE DEFINATION OF 'GENIUS'. N ONLY ROBOTS N RUN OF THE MILL PEOPLE LIKE U HAVE TO 'UNDERSTAND' THE MUSIC!! MUSIC IS NOT TO BE UNDERSTOOD! IT IS TO BE 'ONE' WITH ! EITHER U CAN REMAIN OR MUSIC! BOTH CANT BE PRESENT AT SAME TIME!

honeygodoo9 on Saturday, April 23, 2011
@manimajra1 laugh at urself as u have LOST IT ! WAT U NEED IS A BED AT THE NEAREST MENTAL HOSPITAL.N TELL ME WAT IS 'LAYA' N 'TAAL' WITHOUT PERFECT SUR!!? U R NOTHING MORE THAN A AVERAGE U.P. BIHAR KA BAHIYA WITH MUNNI BANAAM N SHEELA KI JAWANI AS FAV. NOW GO N COMMIT SUICIDE COZ U DESERVE IT .

manimajra1 on Saturday, April 23, 2011
@honeygodoo9 This is a very sad comment. It is criticism just for the sake of it. Sur, taal, laya r different thing all together. U r just bluffing. U need a psychiatrist.

Saagar kinare dil ye pukare , tu jo nahi toh mera koi nahi hai.

CNiru's Awesome Channel on Sunday, January 20, 2013
I do not find the one you mentioned too similar to this one, the similarity
you find may be a similarity due to same/similar base raga. I am not a
musician, but such "snatches" of similarity is very common in raga based
music like Indian music, something that is relatively less common in other
forms of music in the rest of the World ... but then to me most Chinese
music, or most Middle Eastern music also sound similar. That is the nature
of music, because in the end there are only so many notes!

Sudhir Suvarna on Sunday, February 17, 2013
True...Too much media hype for Pancham and A R Rehman and the sad part
is current generation of music lovers have not even heard of genius
composers like Laxmikant Pyarelal, Kalyanji Anandji, Shankar Jaikishen and
Madan Mohan and many more..

So beautifull..

Krishna Menon on Thursday, January 01, 2015
RD at his creative best.he recycled the tune into the making of sagar
kinaare and have been experimenting the same since he started his
career...yes, if he liked a tune and if it did not go well with audience he
repeated the same and got success...those who fail to understand the mind
of a creative genius i would ask them to shut their mouth forever

What a moment"s all are legend "s

rajeev kashikar on Wednesday, August 05, 2015
This work is tribute to RD's creative genius. He is one guy who produced
dynamic sounds and harmony structures around one theme .. Sagar kinare was
composed much later to naram garam but look at d treatments. Asha tai is
absolutely silky in this song with sublime rhythms and simple chord
structures. Even in saagar he created three themes out of this main theme -
one for title music with awesome work on arpeegios and guitar, second in
kk, lata duet and another with lata solo with differently structured
keyboard arpeegios .. This man RD is once in a 1000 year .. Arent we lucky
?
