Here the translation...

Take a toke*
Let the pain be erased
Say all day and night
Hare Krishna, hare Ram

What has the world given us?
What have we taken from the world?
Why should we care about everyone else?
What has everyone else done for us?

*To inhale / take a drag of the good stuff

ARTCORE74 on Sunday, August 16, 2009
If u wanna sing along and u r not to stoned to read this...here u go & enjoy...

Dum maro dum
Mit jaaye gham
Bolo subah shaam
Hare Krishna, hare Ram

Duniya ne hum ko diya kya?
Duniya se hum ne liya kya?
Hum sub ki parva kare kyun?
Sub ne humara kiya kya?

WOW ! Thanks for posting this! I LOVED this soundtrack as a child... but since I dont speak Hindi, I had no idea they were talking about the mean greens (never saw the movie.. but I LOVE how jazzy the music from it is). Do you have anymore uploads from it? Like Kanchire Kanchire or the title song? This is great! Thanks again!

catsrgreatpeople on Thursday, August 27, 2009
Shemaroo. I just found the other sings thanks to your upload collection. Thanks again! This is WONDERFUL!!!

GlanceofGlory on Sunday, September 06, 2009
Ew. Read the translation it pretty much says the reason for toking up is because the world hasn't given us anything, we haven't taken anything from the world, and because we shouldn't have to care about each other. Yup, uh-huh, that's all about unity and peace and love. People think they're ending world hunger for toking up a fatty sometimes.

DonProducci on Friday, September 11, 2009

ElPopularVale on Tuesday, September 29, 2009
this song was in gta? hah!

AbhijitDu on Sunday, October 04, 2009
Translation:

Keep puffing on...
Let the pain be erased...
Keep chanting day and night,
The name of the Lord (Hare Krishna/Hare Ram)

What has the world given us?
What have we taken from the world?
Why should we bother about what others think of us?
What have others ever done for us?

AbhijitDu on Sunday, October 04, 2009
btw the guy at 2:12 between the actress and another guy looks like Snoop Dogg.

16 months ago, I was working with several nepalese guys and gals, while discussing about 60's western music, i brought this song up. never knew what it was about, i just loved melody. Those guys started laughing, didnt know why.. but now that i know the lyrics, it's obvious. I was a junkie in those days. I guess junkieness must be a universal language...

NikeTao on Thursday, November 12, 2009
is that like a religious song?

LickMyJunk on Sunday, November 15, 2009
No. It's about drugs. It was made in the early 70's.

mehseed on Monday, November 16, 2009
@LickMyJunk to be precise it is about Pot/ Marijuana/ Weed/ Charus/ Ganja smoking which was consumed by hippies in 1970s .. the active ingridient is THC..and in most countries marijuana is not classified as hard drug..

LickMyJunk on Monday, November 16, 2009
You're right, I should have been more specific, but at that time, it was lumped in with all the rest of them. I happen to live in a completely liberal city right now (Vancouver, Canada) where smoking pot is pretty much legal and we even have some cafes where you're allowed to bring in weed and smoke up.

AnishProductions on Sunday, November 22, 2009
At that time hippies were very popular in India. Indians didn't like the culture, as it started to become corrupted. So this film was created to represent that, and the consequences.
