V. Siddhartha on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 On Lataji's 81st birthday, we listeners-viewers are getting a special
present in the form of several old Lata songs on different channels. Some
songs are unfamiliar to some of us or are long forgotten ones. Thanks for
digging this one out, Dharmesh. It is as tender as they come. SD movingly
enacts the emotions of a father whose tie with his child is apparently
sundered, and Lataji vocalizes the anguish of the situation with perfection
as always.
kuckudk on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 Your collection of rare old songs is awesome I am listening to it for the
first time perhaps. Keep it up.Dharmesh.
Bhupinder Pujji on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 Dharmesh well done thanks for uploading the rare most songs u got indeed a

crazyoldsongs on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 never heard this beautiful song before but loved it instantly . thanks for
the rare gem on lata ji's birthday !. plz can you also name the lyricist ?
rumahale on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 I had heard of Yaadein as great movie by Sunil Dutt, but never heard the
songs. Beautiful with all the feelings. Thanks for the presentation of this
rare gem.
Dharmesh Kumar on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 @crazyoldsongs U are welcome Lyrics by Anand Bakshi
Dee Thakore on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 I think this is only song and only actor Sunil Dutt in this film. Rare of
the rare film, he made in 60's...I didn't like at that time to go see this
movie. now, I am crazy to see this film. Very nice of you to post this and
share with us.
crazyoldsongs on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 @Julmibaba01 thanks
V. Siddhartha on Thursday, September 30, 2010 @derubala You are right, Derubala.. SD was the only actor( though according
to one internet source Nargis appears too, in silent silhouette) .This was
the only song in the movie. SD's character mistakenly believes that his
wife and son had left him for good because of his bad behavior. He becomes
heart broken and remorseful. The story ends on a better note as both his
wife and child return. They were just temporarily away.
Dee Thakore on Thursday, September 30, 2010 @chamogaa I remember those days radio ceylon advertising this film. It was
mostly Amin Sayani voice...and some dialogues by Sunil Dutt. But they never
played any songs to promote the movie, so I thought movie has no songs.
Yes, I remember other song radha tu he dewani...posted here too :) I
remember in early 70's broadway show by one woman in USA... I was thinking
of this film...today there are dozen of boradway or live shows in USA with
one character. Dutt was way ahead of the time.
V. Siddhartha on Thursday, September 30, 2010 @derubala Glad to learn of the other song. I had been led to believe there
was only one, like the character of SD. There's a very intelligent and
complimentary review of this film by Manisha Vardhan on the internet. She
gives the full story and mentions two children not one. "One of a kind "is
truly applicable to this film ;may be worth viewing.
aapindi on Friday, October 01, 2010 thankyou so much for uploading it again:-)
akarshik on Saturday, October 02, 2010 Never Heard before but Lata jee has sung it very nicely as She does always.
Thanks for sharing Dharmesh jee.
jasbongy on Monday, October 04, 2010 Never heard this very beautiful song, sung with so much feelings by Lata
ji. Thanks Dharmesh ji for sharing. Thumbs Up. Very clear print. W.R. Sarla.
Neeraj Mittal on Thursday, June 30, 2011 @chamogaa I saw a rerun of this movie in early seventies in morning show.
There was only Sunil Dutt with shadows (not silhouettes if I remember
correctly) of Nargis and two children. It was a very bold experiment. The
film tended to drag at times but left an impact on the viewers. I have not
heard of this film lately. Apparently it is now lost. No dvd or Cd.
dev4911 on Wednesday, May 09, 2012 Great Movie. SD was much ahead of his time. A truly intellectual actor. The
first ever solo-act movie in the world. Can you believe it? This movie
should have at least got a honorary mention in the Oscars in 1964. Pity
that the film failed at that time due to lack of proper publicity and
immaturity of the audience the profound theme of loss and recovery told
entirely in the form of a soliloquy.

Neeraj Mittal on Tuesday, November 06, 2012 Thanks. I came across it a couple of months back on an online store. The
print is not great but still watchable. Loved the film again.
