So, in the film, Talat sings it first, then Shamshad and this is the end part of the film when Nargis is dying after falling down from a tree. The very last horse scene is where Naushad used Rafi's voice because of Rafi's unlimited high pitch.

mewfra on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 thank you so much for posting this. I remember this film as a child and the sad version in particular stayed in mind. Its such a great piece of cinema, especially for the time and resources available. I love how the song is slowed right down and there is hope and sadness in Rafi's voice its still so moving when I watch it now. I really wish this version was available on CD or mp3! thank you again for posting it.
