Filmfare paise deke lete hain, aise award, award se kam aur insult zyaada
hoti hain.

What is in it that four to nine centuries old poetry from Bulleh Shah, Shah
Hussain and Baba Farid survived and still flourishing today? Is it the
Punjabi language, ragas or the mysticism itself? We cannot even understand
the English language of that era. At a time in history when Grammy award
winner songs do not last for more than few years.

Reshmi2013 on Monday, May 06, 2013
There wouldn't have been so much hatred, intolerance and destruction
everywhere if people had followed these ideals expressed in this song...

Bulleh Shah...great Sufi poet & philosopher in early 18th century. Are you
joking that you don't know? I mean being a Punjabi yourself...

Ms Sandhu on Saturday, July 13, 2013
And that's the spirit of India. I don't see such respect for other cultures
in other places the way it happens in India.

Ms Sandhu on Tuesday, July 23, 2013
Saying a positive point about something doesn't mean ignoring the other. I
love Baba Bulleh Shah's Kalam. & I am far from Nationalist, you don't know
me, don't assume things from one comment. I'm just responding to a comment
where no credit was given (though not intentional) to the secular spirit in
India & I've lived in India, Europe & the USA & don't find such spirit
anywhere. If there is positive point it should be praised. Where there are
negatives they need to be pointed out & acknowledged.

Terrorists- people who kill innocents to spread terror. This question
didn't deserve an answer but I had nothing better to do.

Ms Sandhu on Friday, July 26, 2013
Oh, believe me, I have met some Indians who don't have a clue about Bulleh
Shah or simply dont have a good taste in music or dont value the poetry.
Some are wannabe westerners- only listen to Pop, rock etc. And people from
the South probably don't understand the language, so have never been
exposed to this type of music- my South Indian best friend is one. He just
doesn't get this music-I have tried hard. He listens to Rock--ewww..He is a
lovely person otherwise.

Do you know the meaning of Kattar? And what are you when you cal someone
"SOB". ? Are you being a liberal by abusing people. Try to accept different
opinions without abusing and discuss the differences.

The Ashvisns married Surya and Savitri who is their sister [ RV I.116.19 ].
Agni is the son of his fatehr and his sister [ Rg Ved.I.91.7 ] Yama wards
off his sister Yami, saying marriage between brother and sister is
forbidden [ R.V.X.10 ][ Apte 11 ] Father-daughter incest occurs in the
famous story of Prajapati (later identified with Brahma, in tunr
incorporated as an incarnation of Vishnu) and his daughter [ RV III.31.1-2 ]

Such a great song. Sad to see the comments- just pure hate...does not go
well with the theme of the song.

Evergreen sufi song, very good.

OMG Plageurised from original by Janoon! Shergill didn't even try to change
it to add any originality to it! Typical

Wrong , originally from Bulla Shah , and anybody has the right to sing it
freely sanning Geo Political Boundary.

Secondly Indians singing sufi kalaam which is inherently Islamic is strange
particularly when Indians detest Islam so much!

Ms Sandhu on Friday, August 30, 2013
Not your fault. Its old Punjabi from 3 centuries ago, hence its somewhat
different from modern Punjabi.

Hassaan M on Saturday, August 31, 2013
You should have been more specific then, from the conversation above one
can easily assume that the talk is about the words not the composition. In
the case of the melody, I'd agree with you.

executionist on Saturday, August 31, 2013
wut? Are you deaf? This is a totally different composition than Junoon's.
Junoon tried to make a rock song out of a sufi poem and failed miserably.
This is the only song that do justice to the lyrics.

Zagat to all kinds of below par music and songs? Can all Khans go to
various IPLs and earn money there please, so that we have more such songs &
music which touch you and inspire you.

i hear ya man..no other religion aims to convert non believers as much as
Islam does..

Ali Jamil on Saturday, November 02, 2013
Where is it praising Islam? does bulle shah not say "na main momin vich
maseetan, na main vich kufar tiya reetan" (i am neither a believer in the
mosque nor am i dwelling in disbelief) If anything this poetry speaks of a
personal journey towards self awareness, rather than God or religion.

Avik Chakraborty on Thursday, November 28, 2013
