Gourang Ambulkar on Thursday, December 29, 2011 @arsheds: Really??? I respectfully would like to opine that Saigal's
soulful rendition is unparalleled.

Arvind Srivastava on Wednesday, May 02, 2012 lovely but can't forget Sehgal who sang it in .full of soul with
Godly voice.ultimate
riturajb1 on Saturday, August 18, 2012 The meaning of this song and situation are drastically different. Bad
conceptualization.
Yamini Kunder on Monday, August 20, 2012 Nawab Wajid Ali Shah the last nawab of Awadh, wrote this thumari “Babul
mora naihar chhooto hi jaye” in 1856, while he was being sent to exile in
Metiabruz [because of an Earthen Dome (raised platform), people called it
"Matiya Burj"] along the banks of the River Hooghly 3 or 4 miles south of
Kolkata. He expressed his pain of parting in his lyric-‘Babul mora naihar
chhuto jaye’, which was indeed a soulful depiction of the agony of his
heart.
Cilamkoti Janakiram on Monday, September 03, 2012 After hearing the great K.L.Saigal this song by Jagjit is a poor one
gurpreet singh on Wednesday, September 05, 2012 FEELINGS OOZED OUT IN KL SAIGAL'S VOICE ...CHEERS TO THE INDIAN CLASSIC

arvind desai on Sunday, May 05, 2013 yes.very true.K.L.Saigal is greatest of all. but here mrs.jagjit sings also
sings in duet which making it little touchy in emotion perticularly the
song narrates a girl going to her husband on the ocasion of her marriage.
RajeshKhannaFan1 on Monday, July 15, 2013 Thank you for pointing out that oversight on my part. Have changed it
accordingly.
RajeshKhannaFan1 on Monday, July 15, 2013 Have made the change. Thanks very much!
ruma Dutta on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 original thumri was by Bade Gulam Ali Sahab . This thumri brings tears and
Basuji used no nicely in so meaningful movie..baabul mora naihar chhut na
jaaye
Lalit Nandani on Sunday, September 15, 2013 Chitra Singh has slightly upper edge than her husband in this song. If, if,
if, imaging, she would have sung with Kundanlal Saigal.
Nasreen Quadri on Saturday, September 28, 2013 I know that this beautiful ghazal / thumri was written by the last Moghul
emperor, Bahadur Shah Zafar when he was being exiled to Rangoon [ present
Yangon]. And during his exile where he died, he wrote one more
ghazal...Lagta nahi hai dil mera ujde dayaar mey, Kiski bani hai
aalam-e-napaayedaar mey!
gabita raican on Saturday, December 14, 2013 2 divine voices!superb song. Please translate for Europe. thank you.

VK malik on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 WHAT A PERFORMANCE BY THIS PAIR. SHARMILA TOUCHING FLOWER WITH HER FACE
LOOKS SO NATURAL AND PRETTY. EXCELLENT !!!
Khusro Elley on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 We should not compare with the original by Saigal. This is a duet and it
has the incredible sarangi and guitar accompaniment. That makes a huge
difference. This is all Chitra and hats off to her. For Jagjit listen to
his solo.
Samprasad Majumdar on Monday, February 02, 2015 WHAT A WONDERFUL MELLOW IN THE LINE OF OF THE RECORDED VERSION OF MAESTRO
K. L. SAIGAL.
MAESTRO JAYANMAY MITRA (JAGAMOHAN) - WITH HIS INCOMPARABLE SWEETNESS AND
EMOTION - HAD SUNG THIS AS HIS LAST SONG. THIS IS A PERENNIAL PIECE OF
NAWAAB WAZED ALI SHAH, ABDICATED, AS HE WAS TO LEAVE HIS PALACE FOR EVER.
MAESTRO JAGAMOHAN HAD THUS ENTHRALLED A BLESSED AUDIENCE OF TORONTO,
ONTARIO, CANADA, DURING 1984.
WE HAD LEARNT FROM MAESTRO JAGAMOHAN THAT MAESTRO SAIGAL HAD APPROACHED
HIS GURUJEE TO LEARN THIS SONG IN BHARAVEE, BEFORE RECORDING IT. THEN
JAGAMOHANJEE HIMSELF LEARNT THIS SAME SONG FROM HIS REVERENT GURUJEE .
DR ARTI SAHAI on Thursday, March 26, 2015 lovely rendering by a superb couple
Mohan Burman on Tuesday, July 07, 2015 Outstanding
Vinod Pahuja on Saturday, August 01, 2015 सदा सुहागन राग भैरवी

Priyankar Dey on Sunday, September 13, 2015 The great work of nabab Wajid Ali Shah.
Ashok Sahu on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 An excellent song that has been immortalised by Jagjit and Chitra.
