in indian music lots glitz and glammer but no creativty, no art,no artistic
freshness.. lot of new expensive instruments, lot of noise, lot of
glammer..poor music direction no real music

See the irony... Wearing western clothes singing classical ghazals

BABADAANG11 on Tuesday, March 06, 2012
@tamalde well dear u r so innocent to under stand class of muzik, what do
think ghazal and sufi is a type of music, these r themes like others as folk
jazz even quwali, the base of all of these is classical which stands over
raag, ragnies, aalap. sergam, when u have command over these then u can
sing every thing like ustad n.fata ali khan, he makes many exp. like
fusion. who is rahat fata ali , shafqet amit ali khan khan. sanam marvi ,u
think he dont have any command over classical.lol

BABADAANG11 on Tuesday, March 06, 2012
@tamalde classical is about rraag ,raagni, allap. sergam, inven,by imeer
khuro r.a also many in Instruments.when u sing these classic with word or
poetry is called semi-classical .classical is roots of tree, semi-classical
is their branches nd other things like jazz, rox r leave . these gharas
singing from akbar mughal king darbar till today and u think they don't
know about classic??..lol ha ha ha,in 1947 all these came in pak. in pak,
it is said to their kids that they cry in sure, rag

Tamal De on Friday, March 09, 2012
@BABADAANG11 dude please read what i have written in my comment. I clearly
differentiatd between semi classical and classical music. I always agre
thatyou need clssica bas t go aheadon semi classical space but then that
doesnt remain your forte. I dont want to beat my own drums but I have
spent 14 years Learning classical music... I know whats the difference
between semi classical and pure classical. While I agree that semi
classical renditions are no childs play;

Tamal De on Friday, March 09, 2012
it does move the singer from the classical track at some stage... they can
never come back in that track. Ustad Nusrat faeh ali khan himself said
this in one of the concerts... All the siners you have mentioned are
great singers but areno more pure classical singers ad can/would never gt
back to the pure classical field. because the voice parameters change
mate (I know this because i have experienced this myself) ..

Tamal De on Friday, March 09, 2012
most Indian classcal singers singers have strictly followed the pure
regime. please havealook at th sangit research academy website and
singers... you would know what i am saying.. pleasedon misread me I am
in no way demeaning singers in your country but trust me my friend it has
become a business for most of tem. look at SRA website and show m one
such thing at your end. I would buy your words

For God Sake Indian Plz be Original stop Copy programmes

zebraorchid99 on Thursday, March 15, 2012
Lol. I love the original song, it's one of my all-time favorite songs! This
version is a crime! Terrible. ugh.

Jasmin Kohli on Friday, March 16, 2012
absolutely disgusting!! HATE THIS..:(

sandies1204 on Friday, March 16, 2012
there must be something seriously wrong with people who can find this
rendition disgusting. it is a beautiful ghazal that has been sung very
well. full justice has been done to the original. well done!!

sandies1204 on Sunday, March 18, 2012
i agree - one has to appreciate their guts and ... it really was performed
well. there would be nothing commendable about an exact copy.

Gogi Singh on Thursday, March 22, 2012
Good voice, in fact great voice, bad try in fact horrible try especially
trying to go all sufi with added shairis. Crap!!

Vinay Gupta on Thursday, March 29, 2012

Vidyut on Wednesday, May 02, 2012
Okay now I understand your point better. I'm sure your pristine passion for
good music transcends geographic boundaries, and may have taken you to
another url "The Dewarist". If not, then amongst the several nice ones on
it, here's one to relish: The Dewarists S01E03 - 'Maaya'

nice renedition..grea work.

admagman on Monday, May 14, 2012
# 1, it is so WRONG that Rehman is ONLY into films # 2, Bollywood is the
2nd biggest film fraternity in the world, and amongst all who make films
with songs, Bollywood is the biggest. The film music ranges from folk to
ballad to qawali to hip hop to rnb to jazz to classical etc etc. So, film
has nothing to do with this # 3, Coke Studio need to appoint a good
arranger first. Someone who is acquainted with the regional music of the 28
states and the 7 Union Territories.

admagman on Monday, May 14, 2012
# 4, they have to involve regional stars. regional music does not always
mean the suburbs and villages.. the urban musicians need to be involved.

admagman on Monday, May 14, 2012
Another thing one must accept is, most Mumbai musicians are so suffering
from Identity Crisis. That could be one of the reasons why they are not
involving the Regional Stars. They love to live in the bubble that Mumbai
is the place for smart music, and hence they do not wanna be proved wrong.

admagman on Monday, May 14, 2012
You can't compare Leslie Lewis with Rohail Hyatt.. There is A R Rehman,
Vishal Shekhar, Salim Sulaiman, Shankar Ehsaan Loy, Iliaya Raja, M M Kreem,
Hariss Jayaraj and many many more.. Stop comparing your art films with Star
Plus. It does not make sense. By the way, there is nothing called art film.
It is the term that exist only in underdeveloped nations or states. My
state in India is also behind, and they love using this term.

admagman on Monday, May 14, 2012
When did I say there are no composers of the calibre I am suggesting???
There are many in Mumbai.. Just that Coke Studio cannot afford them.. Also
there are many in Chennai, Kolkata, Guwahati, Delhi and Bangalore.. But
Coke Studio operations are restricted to Mumbai.. its a mindblock.. can't
help..

admagman on Monday, May 14, 2012
Heard all of these yesterday.. Bohemia outstanding.. got bowled.. What a
fantastic arrangement.. What fantastic presence.. Also like the Kamli track
