Doesn't KLS's singing make you call upon all aspiring Indian musicians and
singers to deify him next to Goddess Saraswati herself ? Thanks,Mirzaji.

Divine singing by the all time greatest singer of light and light classical
music including ghazals - the one and only one KL Saigal.

buttegowda on Sunday, August 01, 2010
Thanks for posting this Gem. One of teh best ghazals by the greatest ghazal
singer ever KLS. KLS is with no parallel when it comes to rendering ghazals
and this is one of the finest examples. One feels like listening to it
again ana again. Long live Kundan Lal Saigal.

mirzaji, a little note on the above song will help the young music lovers
and students.

Let me admit here Mirza Ji that you are an uploader with a delicate
artistic sense. Firstly I noted the the low r.p.m slate disc with the
famous inscription and here the magic of portrait. This absorbing display
of slowly appearing Ghalib and disappearing Saigal complements the mood of
the verse. Aap Sada Jiyein.

About a month before my father died at age 92, I was taking him for a short
walk in his wheelchair. He was suffering from dementia and incontinence for
the last 8 years but his passion for Urdu poetry had been very strong. So,
I started a line of this ghazal "Hum ne mana ke taghaful na karo ge
laikin.” And he completed it by saying, “Khak ho jain ge ham tum se milay
baghair”. So, his tombstone has his version, “Hum ne mana ke taghaful na
karo ge laikin, Khak ho jain ge ham tum se milay baghair”.

The poetry of ghalib is unmatchable. Saigol could not have picked better
poetry. Saigon has really sung very well. May saigol sahib live in heaven
and entertain the almighty.

Your Father had a great taste, may his soul rest in peace.

shirish mehta on Saturday, September 08, 2012
Your father's inner voice was very much engrossed with poetry. May his soul
rest in peace.

Really beautiful! Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful Lyrics by The Great Mirza Ghalib and sung by The Legendary
effortless voice of K.L. Saigal Sahib.

SKKITU Fremont on Thursday, February 28, 2013
Why can't the divine being be a little less selfish (to get entertained
exclusively), and let such immortal singers like Saigal live a bit longer
to produce more ever lasting classics like this for the coming generations?

Satish Chopra on Monday, April 29, 2013
When Saigal sings. It appears, as if Ghalib has come alive.

Satish Chopra on Monday, April 29, 2013
No singer can match Saigal.

I am 58 still I can feel my heart bits !! "Dil ka kya rang karu, khoone
jigar hone tak". Hay Besabri !!

To IMIRZA777, Sumana Das, Shrirish Mehta for such nice comments on my
father's love of Urdu poetry. Especially IMIRZA IS DOING SUCH A GREAT JOB
TO DOWNLOAD REAL CLASSIC INDIAN STUFF. My father had a hand written poetry
selection book that he used to recite to us kids when we were young.
Somehow that is lost when my mother died and he had dementia and their home
in Gujrat PK was sold while I am in the US. I remember the poem Ik Sarson
Ka Kafila that was very touching. Interesting how some things and items
just vanish when the person is gone from this world. KL Saigal issuperb in
whatever he sang. Just to think he died at age 43 and how much more he
would have accomplished he lived to be my age (70) at least. Thank you all
again and IMIRZA keep up the good work.

There is music for the ears, but this music is for the soul
Saigal was a star that appeared on the sky at a certain time
shining for ...
and although now gone
but has left something behind which cannot be described in words

No one can touch the height of Mirza Ghalig and K L Saigal...

One of my very favourite ghazal. Very touching piece of ghazal. A very
touching rendition by Saigal Saheb.

Long long back in late seventies I was singing / playing instrument in my
room in district Mirzapur (UP), I met one Maharashtrian gentleman who had
come there for some technical job for a short visit to that place from
elsewhere, who told me that if he were fixing a nail on wall in his home
with hammer he would stop in between upon listening to Saigal's song on
Radio, abandon his stroke of hammer halfway in air, would sit next to the
Radio with hammer in his hand and start listening to the
Saigal-song----This was the hypnotic/magical effect of Saigal's songs on a
person who was a layman as far as music is concerned. After knowing this
and with repeated & diversified listening to Saigal's songs,Bhajans and
Ghazals in course of time, my respect and desire for Saigal's music went on
increasing.

Saigal was and is Hypnotic.
